I have a confession. Before my daughter was born I thought the best of all baby items were found at Babies R Us and all pet products were found at PetSmart. Yes, I realize this was naive, but at the time I figured they carried all the best items available. Look how far I’ve come. I remember standing in the cat pet house aisle staring and these huge eyesore contraptions wondering how badly my cats really needed one and where I could hide it when guests would come over. Ironically I’m allergic to cats, but found a special breed that doesn’t have dander and only has one layer of fur. Mind you, we live in the desert, but these cats flock to anything hot and steamy. If there’s sunshine on the floor, they’re laying in it. I barely had Sleepypod’s Crater Dot out of the box and the cats were checking it out and quickly test driving it for their first snooze.

There’s a slit in the side of the Crater where you can insert an optional electrical warming pad if your animals are drawn to the heat like mine. Let me just tell you that my two cats fight over this bed. One sits nearby waiting for the other to get up off of the Crater Dot for water, food or to annoyingly walk between my legs as try to walk across the house, and the other quickly snags the bed. I was able to easily pick up any stray cat hair from the beds with a sticky lint roller. Lavender Field and Orange Dream are the two new colors added to the Crater Dot family, I just love their cute names for the colors; Blossom Pink, Mossy Green and Lunar Gray.
