Thinking about picking out a bottle can be very overwhelming. There are so many options on the market today, many I wish I had known about (or existed) 3 years ago. Well leading the pack is Coddlelife with their line of incredibly inventive bottles. The plastic (polypropylene) version features a peristaltic nipple which mimics breastfeeding action. The nipple is extra stretchy and elongates in the baby’s mouth during feeding, and also features sensory bumps. Traditional smaller nipples are small and designed to make the infant squeeze to release the contents. Don’t make your baby work so hard! The peristaltic nipple is molded to fit the baby’s mouth, ensuring wide open latching like in breastfeeding. The nipple also houses the venting system, which redirects air to the bottom of the bottle via the slits. This is the most current technology in bottle ventilation. Using this system helps reduce colic, spit up, and ear infections by keeping the air separated from the liquid. The vent itself comes with a handy cleaner, making this bottle the easiest I’ve seen to clean, no tiny or hard to get to parts. The bottle also has a “top” side so remember to keep the bottle top side up to avoid air intake.

The Coddlelife PP Bottle comes in 8 oz size and the silicone nipples are available in stage 1 (0-3 months), stage 2 (3-6 months), stage 3 (6 months+). And of course all parts of the bottle are non-toxic, BPA, Lead, PVC, and Phthalates free. Also included is the vent cleaner.
Test Run: With no infant in the house, I handed my bottle over to a friend of mine with a newborn. She’s a mixed breast/bottle feeder and has such trouble with her son taking to her current bottles. He latched right onto the Coddlelife bottle almost immediately. The venting system proved to be very impressive and did a great job at keeping the air away from the liquid. Her son has also been a very colicky baby and this venting system seems to ease that. Moms should, run, not walk, to the nearest retail location and pick up a pack of these bottles! Buy a 3 pack for only $18.99!

You can buy your own straight from Coddlelife, other online retailers, or a local store. Order from their retail site and 10% of your purchases will go to the United States Foundation for the Children of Haiti – Earthquake Relief.

These look fantastic! My Dtr-in-law will deliver our 2nd Grandbaby in 2 weeks, and she & I have been researching bottles. With our Grandson, a relative gave her a whole set of bottles but since she’s a mixed feeder (bottle & breast, so my Son can also bond w/baby!) she needs a bottle that’s not going to cause problems. These bottles are it! She really wants a set of these – so if I could win them for her I wld REALLY be a hero here!
