When my daughter was born and we headed home with her for the first time, I was scared out of my mind. It was so much easier when I had the nurses and doctors to make sure I was doing everything correctly, feeding her long enough, frequent enough, etc. I started making all types of charts on blank pieces of paper to mark how often she went to the bathroom, the times she ate and duration, it was ridiculously detailed. The journal will help you understand your newborn(s) patterns and is a handy item to bring with you to the doctor’s office for your check-ups. It has 3 months worth of logging pages for feeding, diapering and sleeping. Areas to add in vitamins, baths and special moments. There’s a sample page to show you how to log all of the information, a growth log and contact pages for important numbers. This is a great tool for any babysitter as well or if you’re starting daycare for them to see your newborns patterns. I was sent a Baby’s First Journal to review and I was really impressed with all the details, the organization and how it’s the perfect size to quickly throw in your diaper bag if you are running out. No more hodge podge logging with the next baby!
