We’re making some progress. I posted previously about some very modern co-sleepers, but unfortunately they were prototypes. Well, the Bednest is a new co-sleeper, travel crib, bassinet all in one and it’s available to purchase….in the UK. I know, it’s just not fair. Good news is that if money isn’t an option, you can purchase the Bednest for approximately $275 US dollars and have it shipped here for about $175 or so. Yikes, but, it sure is lovely!
You’ve heard us talk about how modern design shouldn’t just stop at items for us, but should be incorporated with items for both children and pets as well. Elderly animals have a hard time jumping up on to couches, their favorite window sill or beds the way they did while in their prime. Their Slant Stair is crafted with the most beautiful zebra wood and constructed with eco-friendly materials. Each step has grip strips added for your animal so that their feet don’t slide on the steps. They also make pads each step to make it an even softer cushion for them. The stairs hold up to 40 lbs. Such a beautifully designed piece of furniture, I’ve had to keep my daughter’s hands off of them! She keeps trying to steal them from the cats. Guess I can’t blame her since they’re perfect for so many things.
Sarah: I love modern design. That just sums it all up for me and what I chose to surround myself in the sanctuary that is my home. Bringing a new member (Simon the cat) into the house just means I need to add a few modern features to my house. Mandatory pieces that he needs to have a peaceful existence, but pieces that compliment our house and existing style. I was so incredibly excited to give Simon a place for him to rest that is all his. My 3 year old can’t get to him up here where he is king of the castle. Huge relief for him! The installation was a two man job but not difficult at all once the wall studs were marked. We placed them above the couch in our main living area, where he likes to be. After a few days of confusion and curiosity, he ventured out onto the wall mounted wave perches. He now bounds from the couch to the small wave, and onto the large wave, where he finds peace. He also sits in the cradle of the small wave. I love that he has a place to be all his own, with no sacrifice of style. I just can’t get down with those traditional cat perches with heavy carpeting and swinging toys. Not only are these perches not an eyesore, but they are up and out of the way, leaving us with our current living space. I highly recommend these cat perches to any family with cats!

Who hasn’t had a bean bag in their life time? And, who hasn’t been disappointed when said bean bag starts to fall flat? Erin: I decided to surprise my daughter with a Fatboy Island for her birthday. She picked out the color and item a few weeks earlier, but I knew she had forgotten about it. After a year of being potty trained, I’m pretty tired of emptying my daughter’s Boon potty receptacle.
